Archaeolink are always looking for keen volunteers to help with reconstructions on site and become involved in living history demonstrations. Daily activities vary widely, and include traditional crafts such as basketry, leatherwork, building maintenance, animal husbandry and gardening.

Volunteers should have an interest in History and/or Archaeology but by no means is a pre-requisite. Anyone over 14 can become a volunteer.

Volunteers receive lunch and a variety of benefits in return for their invaluable support.

Accommodation
There are a number of Bed & Breakfasts within walking distance to the centre, a list of these can be found on our links page. There are also campsites in the local area including Huntly, Loch Insch and Kintore.

Transport
The nearest train station is Insch, which is approximately 3 miles from the centre, a regular bus service is also available from Inverurie and Aberdeen.
