Leicester Museum of Science and Technology. Housed in former sewage pumping station.
Abbey Pumping Station was part of the city’s sewage system and now houses various displays on science and technology. (It’s right next door to the National Space Centre, giving a long time span of history) Housed in the centre are its original Gimson steam engines (Woolf compound rotative beam engines) which are still powered up on special steam days. The museum also has exhibitions on light and optics, historic transport and public health. (Flushed with Pride)
